HIST 262:
History of the Ancient
Near East

An introduction to the peoples, history, and culture of the ancient Near East from the earliest times through the Iron Age, specifically the regions of Mesopotamia, Egypt, and the Levant. This course is organized using the Longue Durée approach to historiography and will therefore discuss geographical, social, and individual time.
